In the restaurant world there aren’t many dishes that can be used in a multitude of ways, but chili is in a category of its own with chili playing a starring role in many of our favorite foods ranging from burgers to hot dogs to French fries and more. And aside from the classics, there are many other ways to use chili that aren’t as widely known.
As chili aficionados, we at Whitey’s love to push the limits of what chili can be by not only providing restaurants with a wide variety of options ranging from our Original Beef Chili to our Chipotle Garden Vegetable Chili, but also helping them find innovative ways to use our products. For example, chili cheese empanadas for a Mexican restaurant or chili lasagna – the possibilities are endless.
If you are a restaurant operator looking to expand your menu with more chili offerings, the first step is to take a step back and think about your customers first: What are currently the most popular items on the menu, what are some dishes they may get at other restaurants that you don’t currently offer, etc.
Once you’ve done your due diligence, you can then begin working on recipe ideas in the kitchen and use diners to get feedback before officially launching new items on the menu. As long as you take a customer-centric approach everything will turn out good in the end.
